Event Runs from November 3 to 6, 2022
TOKYO—November 2, 2022 —Today, ispace, inc. (ispace) Founder and CEO Takeshi Hakamada announced that ispace will display a full-scale model of its lunar lander, part of the HAKUTO-R lunar exploration program, at the akasaka Sacas Plaza, in front of the TBS television studios. The event, which is free of charge and open to all, will run from November 3 to 6, 2022.
In addition to the lander display, tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis for the opportunity to pilot ispace’s lunar rover and experience what it would be like to serve as a mission operations specialist operating a spacecraft on the Moon.
Earlier this week, ispace announced that its lunar lander, which will travel to the lunar surface, arrived in Cape Canaveral Fla., and will launch on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket no earlier than November 22, 2022.
In an effort to ensure as many people as possible have the opportunity to experience ispace’s upcoming mission, the model of the Series 1 lunar lander, standing at 2.3 m tall and 2.6 m wide, and a model rover will be open for public viewing. The exhibition has been planned in order to make the general public aware of the development of the Moon and provide them with a connection to ispace’s first mission.
